OUR BELIEFS

Every day,  we strive to do our best for our customers.

As a small family run business, we believe in combining minimalistic design, world-class materials, and superior craftsmanship to give you the best backpack possible.

Sometimes we get it wrong. When we do, we apologize, and we move forward with you - hand in hand.

Giving you a great quality backpack is our baseline.

We believe in making it easy to give back to the world through our giving program. Here’s how our beliefs started...

OUR HISTORY

The beginning...

The idea of Just Porter started back in 2006 when our founder, Chris Bahr, was doing humanitarian work in the Philippines.

He walked past a school that had slanted boards for windows, no electricity, and desks made from scrap wood.

He asked the teacher if there was anything her students needed. The teacher asked for basic supplies since many of the children had none.

Chris went to the local market and purchased all the pens, pencils, sharpeners, paper and crayons he could afford with the money in his pocket.

When he returned to the school, he began giving the school supplies to the children, and the outpouring of gratefulness moved Chris to tears.

Years later, Chris left his career in finance to pursue his idea of helping educate children in need.

And that’s how our giving program was created...

OUR GIVING PROGRAM

It is beyond one for one. It’s the right thing to do.

As a small family run business, we believe in combining minimalistic design, world-class materials, and superior craftsmanship to give you the best backpack possible.

Many social companies parachute goods into the communities where they give. As a result, local businesses can be hurt. That’s not a solution.

Just Porter works to manufacture our “give bags” in the areas we give. We buy our supplies at the local markets. We work with local backpack manufacturers to create jobs. We purchase schools supplies from local companies.

In the end, we donate bags filled with age appropriate school supplies to promote education.

Our strategy sustains jobs and businesses. We strengthen families. We educate children.
